Dumplings Ingredients:

2 – Cups flour
2 – Tablespoon Baking Powder
1 – Tablespoon salt
1/8 – Teaspoon Garlic
1/8 – Teaspoon white Pepper
1/2 – Teaspoon Chicken Bullion
1/4 – Teaspoon Paprika
1/4 – Teaspoon Dill Weed
1/4 – Cup Shorting
1 – Cup Milk

  1. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic, pepper, bullion, paprika and dill weed in medium size bowl. Cut in shorting until crumbly. Stir in milk to make a soft dough.
  2. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stew.

Chicken Ingredients:
9 – Cups of Water
1 – Medium Whole Chicken
5 – Bay Leaves
1 – Large Carrot
3 – Medium Onions
1 – Tablespoon Chicken Bouillon
1/2 – Teaspoon Garlic
1/2 – Teaspoon white Pepper
1 – Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 – Teaspoon Dill Weed
1/2 Cup Milk
1 – Tablespoon Flour

Directions:

Cook chicken, on medium heat, in water with bay leaves.
When chicken is done pull off bones and put back into the water.
Add carrots, and onions cook until carrots and onions are soft.
Add all spices and bring to a boil.
Drop dumplings in. Cook for 10 minutes and turn over or stir.

When the inside of the dumplings are the consistency of a biscuit whisk milk and flour together and add to the pan. Let cook another for 5 minutes and serve.

Mozzarella Toast

Wheat toast

Add 2 roasted garlic cloves
Top with 3 thin slices of cheese

Pinch of Thyme
Pinch of Rosemary

Toast until golden brown.

Serve with soups and salads

Indigence:

Whole Wheat Bread
Butter
Garlic Powder
Dried Marjoram
Dried Thyme

This is what I had in the cabinet so this is what I used.

Directions:

Take whole wheat bread and spread butter, sprinkle garlic powder, sprinkle dried marjoram, and  dried thyme on both sides.

Put in toaster and toast until brown. Slice or crumble.

Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas -Seasoned

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together 1 cup all-purpose flour, the whole wheat flour, and salt and all other seasonings. Add in the shortening mix by hand until the mixture is the texture of oatmeal. Pour in the boiling water. Mix until all of the water is evenly incorporated. Sprinkle with a bit of additional flour, and knead until the dough does not stick to your fingers. The dough should be smooth.flour tortillas
  2. Make balls the size of golf balls. Place them on a smooth surface, and cover with a cloth. Let stand for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours.
  3. Heat a griddle or large frying pan over high heat.tortillas

    tortillasTake you Kitchen Aid with the pasta attachment with the smooth rollers. Put it on the number 1 setting for thickness. flatten the tortilla ball and run it through the rollers. Fold the  tortilla in half put setting on 5 and run through again. Fol the tortilla in half, put setting on 1 and run through one more time. (You can choose your preferred thinness.)

  4.  Fry one at a time. Place on the griddle for 10 seconds, as soon as you see a bubble on the top, flip the tortilla over. Let it cook for about 30 seconds, then flip and cook the other side for another 30 seconds.They don’t have to look perfect. :0) remember they are homemade

Medicinal usage in Islam

The prophet Muhammad PBUH said that ‘This black cumin is healing for all diseases except Death.’ The prophet recommended that Muslims take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils. (Book #71, Hadith #591)
